- First of all, thank you to all the people that wrote or posted to give
- advice on my problem.
-
- The problem turned out to be terminating packs on my orginal Quantum 240
- drive. Yea, I know this is a stupid thing to miss, but I made the mistake
- of trusting the manual. Right there on page 14 it says "Note that GVP
- removes all terminating resistor packs on hard drives that are installed
- by us, and that removing them is not necessary." So finally after trying
- everything else I disassembled my controller to get to the drive and there
- on the bottom of the drive were three terminating packs. After removing
- them everything works fine.
-
- On a related subject, while working on this problem I heard/read several
- references to a GURUROM for GVP products. What does this do and do I need
- one for future expansion.
